A lot of what comes back is not the wrong color. The waist is loose, the sleeve sweeps the floor, or the hem trips you. This note only fixes those three. Each piece has its own chart. Don’t reuse one piece’s numbers on another.
The long note is size and care. Check the waist-length ruqun and the printed mamian beside the buy box, on the chart that belongs to that piece.
Mistake 1: sizing up by feel
Measure the bare waist at the narrowest point, then add the ease this piece asks for. On a waist-length ruqun, see where the waistband lands. On a mamian, see whether this waistband adjusts. A model’s waist number, or “I wear M so I’ll take L,” throws the panels and the waistband off.
Mistake 2: sleeves chosen only for the look
Wide sleeves have presence. The cuff also drags and picks up food. Measure with the arm hanging, then raise it once. A sleeve on the floor is not fixed by tying the skirt higher.
Mistake 3: copying the model’s height for the hem
Length runs from the top of the waistband to the hem you want. A garden can take a longer hem. Walking every day wants it a little shorter. The model’s height is not your skirt length.
The forms themselves are in the mamian primer and the ruqun primer. Names are in the form list.
If you will not measure one of the three, don’t order yet. After you measure, look at the women’s shelf.
