Warmth starts at the cuff
梦锦鲤 [Meng Jinli] moves from milky white at the shoulder to coral at the cuff. The wide sleeves are semi-sheer, with fine flowers and pale blue-green butterfly stitches on the sleeve, and the color sinks slowly toward the sleeve edge.
The short square-collar top is embroidered with red, gold, and blue-green flowers. A stretch of water-blue is left at the waist, and below it a long pleated skirt whose hem gathers into layered, scale-like petals.
Ripples under the sleeve
Coral rises from the sleeve edge, as if only the brocade carp's tail were left in the water.
The hem
The pleats fall from the waist, and the coral petals become clear only at the lower edge.
